While traveling in Yellow Rock Isle, Misty sees a Corsola that's energenic and friendly. With a little help from her Poliwhirl, Misty captures Corsola with her Lure Ball.
Misty enters in the Whirl Cup tournament with Corsola. Corsola advances Misty passed the preliminary round after knocking a trainer's Seaking. In the next round, Corsola battles Harrison's Qwilfish. Qwilfish gets stuck in the coral of Corsola's head. Corsola then uses this opportunity to use Spike Cannon and hits it point blank, knocking it out. In the final round, Corsola faces Trinity's Gyarados. Corsola counters Gyarados' Hydro Pump but Gyarados quickly counters back with Hyper Beam which overpowers Corsola's attack but Corsola manages to dodge it by diving into the water. Corsola ultimately defeats Gyarados. Corsola next faces Trinity's Chinchou. Corsola unfortunately is defeated due it being to confused by Chinchou's attack to do anything.
In Just Add Water, Corsola is brought out to battle the gym leader of the Coastline Gym, Dorian. Dorian brought out his Mantine. It is quickly learned that it was at a disadvantage because of Mantine's superior speed. However, by using Recover it regained some of its health, enough to give it a bigger advantage in health than Mantine and defeats it.
In the Sun & Moon series during Misty's visit in Alola, it was released by Misty and upon seeing a Corsola accessories being solded as a souvenir, it was horribly scared upon seeing it.
