Trivia

  • Misdreavus is the only Ghost type Pokémon to be revealed in Generation II.
  • Although it's appearance seems feminine, a male Misdreavus can be found in the wild at a 50% rate.
  • Excluding evolutions, Misdreavus is one of four plain Ghost Pokémon, with the others being Shuppet, Duskull and Yamask.

Origins

Misdreavus' name is possibly a combination of the words "Mischievous" and any of the following: "Dream", "Dread", "Reave", or "Dreary". All words have been proposed multiple times, though it is unsure which is the actual word in use, if any.

  • French: Feuforeve
