The Metal Coat is an item introduced in Generation II.
Effect
When a Pokémon hold this item, all steel-type moves its power are increased by 20% (It was 10% in Gold, Silver, and Crystal).
When Onix or Scyther holds the Metal Coat, they will evolve into Steelix and Scizor when traded over.
Locations
- Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum: It can be found on Iron Island.
- Black and White: It can either be found in Route 13 or at the Twist Mountain (Winter only).
- Black 2 and White 2: It can either be found in the Clay Tunnel or in the Chargestone Cave.
- X and Y: It can be found in the Poké Ball Factory.
- Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire: It can be found in New Mauville.
