Meloetta's Moonlight Serenade (Japanese: メロエッタのキラキラリサイタル Meroetta no Kirakira Risaitaru resp. Meloetta no Kirakira Recital, lit. Meloetta's Sparkling Recital) is a short Pikachu movie accompanied with the film Kyurem vs. the Sword of Justice.

Meloetta is having singing concert in the Pokemon Forest. She uses five special berries called Melody Berries to make the concert more exciting. However, an accident causes all the berries, except the pink Melody Berry, to be scattered across the forest. Now Pikachu and his pals must find the berries, so the recital can go on. Will they find the berries?

Once a year in the Pokemon Forest, the moon is over the peak of Lunatone Rock. That's when Meloetta will perform her Moonlight Recital. This year, Pikachu and all his friends have come to see the recital. Meowth and Wobbuffet have come to see the recital too, and Meowth falls in love with Meloetta.

The short film features a variety of Pokémon from other Pokémon, short films and major characters from the series:

  • All starters prior to Generation V appear in Meloetta's Moonlight Serenade (all being owned by a main character).
  • This is the only part of the Pokémon franchise to star all Pokémon starters (Gen I - V).
  • Meowth returns to a more comedic role in this movie, with a crush on Meloetta.
  • The Film takes place in an unknown part of the Pokémon World called "Pokemon Forest" with "Lunatone Rock".
  • In Japan, it was tied with Kyurem vs. the Sword of Justice, but was released internationally on Pokémon TV on February 15, 2013.
  • None of Tracey's Pokémon appear in the short, making him the only main character/traveling companion who is not represented by a Pokémon.
