This Sharpedo is a water/dark-type Pokémon owned by Matt from the Ruby & Sapphire arc.
Biography
Since Shelly, Matt and Amber couldn't capture Mr. Stone in secret, they had their Pokémon attack him.[1] The Pokémon attacked Mr. Stone and took one of the components he held in his pockets. Sapphire's Torchic, Chic, and Aron, Rono, attacked the Pokémon, while Gabby and Ty noticed certain marks on their bodies. Later on, Sapphire faced the Team Aqua members, though Shelly noted how Sapphire's Pokémon were injured while battling Carvanha and Sharpedo, due to their Rough Skin ability.[2]
When Matt faced Sapphire in the cable car, he sent Sharpedo to attack her and Flannery.[3] Sapphire and Flannery evaded Sharpedo's attack, who prepared for another attack. Sapphire's Lairon, Rono, used Iron Defense to protect itself from Sharpedo's Bite attack. Though Sharpedo's fangs broke, it quickly regrew the fangs back. However, Sapphire used one of Sharpedo's fangs to break through the glass and let the water out of the cable car. Sharpedo and Azumarill tried to attack, but they, along with Matt, were defeated by Rono's Take Down.[4] Amber and Professor Cozmo found Matt, Azumarill and Sharpedo knocked out.[5]
After the Gym Leaders' meeting at Fortree City ended, Winona, Wattson and Flannery were certain they'd face Team Aqua admins and their Pokémon.[6]
Matt faced Winona, who tried to rescue Wattson, who was drowning in the ocean. However, Matt's Sharpedo used Taunt on Altaria, who became enraged and focused on Sharpedo, making it unable to listen to Winona's orders.[7]
