Black and White

In Black and White, the player challenges Marshal as part of the Pokémon League. During this, the player finds that Marshal used to be like Cheren until the Champion Alder changed his ways. Later, Marshal arrives at the Victory Road Cave and gives Cheren advice that Alder had once given to him about seeking true strength.

Black 2 and White 2

In Black 2 and White 2, Marshal appears at the entrance to Twist Mountain from Route 8. He says that the front has collapsed, and you can't enter. He will stay there, until you face him in the Elite Four. After you complete the game, Marshal will still be there, but he will leave shortly after, after giving you a short speech. He then goes back to the Elite Four, waiting for you to challenge him.
