Biography[]

Pokémon the Series: Diamond and Pearl[]

Mars was assigned as backup for him when Team Galactic attempted to steal the Lustrous Orb from Prof. Carolina's laboratory.[1] Mars launched attacks on Cynthia, who defended herself. When Team Rocket escaped with the Lustrous Orb, Mars went to find them and attack them at the Celestic Ruins after she incapacitated Officer Jenny and her fellow police officers. After the Lustrous Orb was stolen, Mars returned to Galactic Headquarters, revealing that the Fuego Ironworks have finished their part in Red Chain project centered on Dialga, Palkia, and the Lake Trio.[2]

Mars was on Iron Island with her subordinates. She placed an artifact in a carving on the mountain, causing a beam to be shot out to Mt. Coronet, which also stirred the Steel-type Pokémon on the island to go berserk.[3] Mars reported to Cyrus that her mission was going well. However, as Riley and others went to disable her machine, she sent her Purugly and Golbat to stop them. However, Ash, Brock and Dawn joined the fight as well, which ended up the machine getting destroyed and the Steel-type Pokémon no longer being berserk. While Mars did recover the artifact, she reported to Cyrus the failure of her mission, who simply had her blow up the entire island. Team Galactic grunts placed the bombs, and as they went aboard the helicopter, Mars pressed a button to detonate the bombs. Even then, Riley and Lucario used their aura to contain the pressure from the explosion and release it in mid-air, thus saving the island. Once she returned, Mars reported the failure to Cyrus, who had new plans.[4] Later, as the heroes encountered Team Galactic again, Charon showed them the artifact. The heroes remembered Mars obtaining it, realizing that artifact was a key.[5]

Mars was with Cyrus at Team Galactic base when Saturn reported that his team found the gateway to the Spear Pillar.[6] When Azelf was captured, Mars watched as Mesprit appeared to aid Azelf. Her Purugly went to attack Mesprit, distracting it enough to be captured. After J captured the Lake Trio, Saturn, Mars and Jupiter thanked her for the assistance as she departed away, and the commanders went to the headquarters. Due to the Lake Trio's influence, they warped Ash, Brock and Dawn to the headquarters, where they faced Cyrus and his commanders. Mars and Jupiter, sensing the connection between the Lake Trio and the heroes, believed the latter should be eliminated, but remained silent when Cyrus glared them.[7]

After Cyrus left to deal with other matters, it did not take long for Jupiter, Mars, and Saturn to overpower and capture Ash, Dawn, and Brock. Going to Mt. Coronet with the hostages, Cyrus took Saturn, Charon, and Mars with him into Spear Pillar, leaving Jupiter behind to guard the hostages. As Cyrus prepared to summon Dialga and Palkia, using the Red Chain, the Adamant and Lustrous Orbs, as well as the Lake Trio, the heroes and Cynthia arrived to stop them. Mars had Purugly stop them, but was defeated by Pikachu's Thunderbolt and Piplup's Bubble Beam.

As Cyrus opened a portal to the new world, Mars and Saturn wanted to enter. Cyrus didn't permit them, thinking they would taint his new perfect world. He entered, but Dialga and Palkia closed the portal, trapping Cyrus within it. Mars tried to reach for Cyrus but was stopped by Saturn, shaking his head. Moments later, Mars was arrested by Looker with Jupiter and Saturn, and taken away to face punishment for all of Team Galactic's crimes.[8] Jessie wrote a letter to Team Rocket HQ that she, James and Meowth were the ones that defeated Mars and disbanded Team Galactic organization.[9]
