Malamar (カラマネロ Karamanero) is the dual-type Dark/Psychic Overturning Pokémon and is the evolved form of Inkay. It was first introduced in Generation VI.

Biology

Physiology

Malamar is an amphibian Pokémon, who has purple skin. Unlike Inkay, it does not "wear a hat", but has a "costume", which is pink, white and purple colored. Its hands look like strips of cloth.

Evolution

Malamar is the evolved form of Inkay. It evolves at level 30 when the 3DS is held upside down.

Trivia

• Malamar is an up-side down version of Inkay.

Etymology

The name "Malamar" is almost homophonous with the Malay word "Melamar". "Melamar" means "to engage or propose in terms of marriage" or simply "to propose one's hand in marriage".
