Trivia[]

  • As of Generation VIII, there are 41 Pokémon that have Levitate, making it the most common ability to date.
    • No Pokémon introduced in Generation VIII have this ability.
    • Of these 41 Pokémon, 35 of them have Levitate as their sole ability, while the Koffing and Bronzor families have a secondary and hidden ability, while Duskull has just a hidden ability.
    • Vikavolt is the only Generation VII Pokémon that has Levitate.
  • Although all of Rotom's appliance forms retain Levitate, Fan Rotom's secondary type makes it immune to Ground-type moves to begin with, thus making Levitate redundant.
  • Unlike with Spikes, Toxic Spikes, and Sticky Web, Pokémon with Levitate are not immune to Stealth Rock, as the entry hazard takes weaknesses into account.
  • Thanks to this ability, the Tynamo family has no weaknesses, until they are affected by Iron Ball, Gastro Acid, Neutralising Gas, or Smack Down.
