Leavanny (Japanese: ハハコモリ Hahakomori) is a Bug/Grass-type Pokémon introduced in Generation V.

Biology

Physiology

Leavanny is a thin, yellow, bipedal humanoid-looking insect Pokémon. It has a broad, split leaf around its head and has long antennae which end in semi-circles. Its chest and legs are dark green and sectioned. The hands look like leaves and the arms are like veins. Its abdomen is covered by its leafy tail, making it look like it is wearing a cloak. It has a string that it uses for the trail to come out of mazes.

Behavior

Leavanny is a very kind, motherly, nurturing Pokémon. It will weave leafy clothing for small Pokémon, including its young, Sewaddle.

Diet

This Pokémon mainly eats fallen leaves.

Evolution

Leavanny is the evolved form of Swadloon, level up +1 after Swadloon becomes very friendly with the trainer, and the final evolved form of Sewaddle.

Trivia

Leavanny appears in PokéPark 2: Wonders Beyond in Verdant Court in the Arbor Area, as one of Queen Serperior's bodyguards.

Origin

Leavanny shares traits of many different insects, including a caterpillar, like its pre-evolutions, and a praying mantis. Unlike its pre-evolutions, Leavanny has a humanoid appearance and stands on two legs.

Etymology

Leavanny's English name seems to be a combination of the words "leaf", "leaves", and "nanny" on account of its motherly, nurturing nature.
