Lawrence III (Japanese: 'ジラルダン', Gelardan) is the main antagonist that appeared in Pokémon the Movie 2000: The Power of One. He calls himself a "collector", but many see him as a Pokémon poacher more then a collector, although it seems that he didn't have any Pokémon of his own before capturing the Legendary Birds. He travels in a gigantic airship that houses his collection of artifacts, although his most prized treasure is his Ancient Mew card, which was also the first object in his collection. His goal is to capture Lugia and add it to his collection. By the end of the movie, he finds his Mew card and mutters "How it all began, and how it will begin all over again", implying that he will try again to catch Legendary Pokemon to his collection. He hasn't been heard of again although at the credits of Pokemon Heroes, Annie and Oakley were seen looking at a picture of him.

Pokémon Information This Moltres was the first of the legendary birds that Lawrence III caught. He first fired freezing shots to the Fire Island, thus forcing Moltres to reveal itself. Then he had several shots on Moltres, weakening it. After this, he launches his electric rings, capturing Moltres. Moltres is later freed by Ash and his Pikachu, Charizard, Squirtle, and Bulbasaur. Moltres then launches its Flamethrower at Zapdos, releasing it. After this, the two legendary birds start battling and also drop Lawrence's flying fortress. Moltres ♂

Pokémon Information This Zapdos was the second and also the last of the legendary birds that Lawrence III managed to capture. After Moltres was caught, Zapdos arrived to the Fire Island, where Lawrence used his fortress' power to absorb Zapdos's electricity. Then he launched his square-shaped capture rings, imprisoning Zapdos. Later Zapdos is freed by Moltres. After this, the two legendary birds begin to battle with each other and also cause Lawrence's fortress to fall to the Lightning Island. Zapdos ♂

AppearanceEdit

Lawrence III is in his late 30 or early 40. He has green hair with two lopes coming down either sides. He has purple eyes and is rather tall.

TriviaEdit

• Lawrence III survived the Flying Palace destruction and defeated by Lugia using Aeroblast to destroy the Flying Palace.
• Lawrence III appeared near the end of Pokémon Heroes the Movie in a magazine that Annie and Oakley were reading.
