Latios is a legendary Latios shares both traits of a dragon and psychic pokemon.
Gender Differences
Latios is a male only species. To see his female counter part see Latias
Behavior
Latios has a docile temper. He dislikes fighting, but will if provoked. He will open his heart if he sees a kind soul and compassionate spirit.
Special Abilities
Latios comes with the ability Levitate, which causes Ground-type moves to miss. Latios is able to fold in his arms and fly at the speed of a jet. He can make foes see images he has seen or what he imagines in his head. He can understand human speech. Even if he is hiding, Latios can detect the locations and emotions of others using telepathy.
In the movie Pokémon Heroes Latias and Latios also had the ability "Sight Sharing" which allowed Latias and people around her to see exactly what Latios is seeing.
Latios is the only known Pokémon that learns Luster Purge.
In The Anime
Latios first debuted with his sister Latias in Pokémon Heroes. Annie and Oakley captured Latios and used him to power his DNA along with the stolen Soul Dew to power the Defense Mechanism in the museum of Alto Mare. Latios ended up sacrificing himself to save Alto Mare from an enormous tidal wave. Latios also had a small cameo in the opening to The Rise of Darkrai with his sister Latias.
Trivia
* Latios and Latias are the first legendary Pokémon to have genders.
o Despite this, they belong to the No eggs egg group which means that they cannot breed.
* Latios is one of the few non-Flying type who can learn Fly. The others are Mew, Smeargle, Vibrava, Flygon, Latias, Giratina, and Arceus.
* Before Generation IV, Latios either resisted or was weak to every type classified as special, taking no neutral hits from any. It shares this trait with Latias.
* Latios shares the same species name with his female counterpart Latias. They are both known as Eon Pokémon.
* Latios is the only male-only legendary Pokémon.
