Lara Laramie's Growlithe only appearance was in ''The Flame Pokémon-athon''. It battled Ash when he tried to capture a Tauros at her ranch. Ash sent out Charmander, but when Ash discovered Growlithe was also a Fire-type, he recalled it. Growlithe was shown to be very local to Lara, often staying by her side. Growlithe made a brief cameo the next day watching Ash participate in the race with Lara's Ponyta.
