Katie was the first opponent that Ash battled in the Ever Grande Conference victory tournament. She appeared in Shocks and Bonds and A Judgment Brawl.
Biography
Katie is the pride of Lilycove City, where she has the nickname "cool beauty" because of her fashion and flair. Her hobbies include playing the clarinet and her favorite food is spicy spaghetti with Tamato Berries. In battle, she most commonly uses Venomoth and Golduck and is known for carefully analyzing her opponent's moves.
Katie's battle style was different from many other typical Trainers in the anime. Instead of sticking with one Pokémon in battle until it fainted, she would switch out her Pokémon for a stronger one if hers had a disadvantage. It was due to this strategy that she nearly defeated Ash in the first part of their battle.
During their battle, she took out two of Ash's Pokémon without having any of hers faint. Ash finally was able to take out her Dugtrio with his Glalie. However, the Ice-Type was soon defeated by her Misdreavus's Destiny Bond.
However, Ash was able to turn the battle in his favor using his three remaining Pokémon. His Corphish took out her Golduck while confused, and from there, he eventually defeated Katie and moved on in the Victory Tournament.

After dodging a flamethrower from Torkoal, Katie recalled Venomoth since she knew it was weak to Fire-Type attacks. It later battled Ash's Corphish and Ash's Swellow. It used supersonic on the already confused Corphish and Ash recalled it and sent out Swellow. After a fierce aerial battle, Venomoth was knocked out by Swellow's quick attack. | Katie's Golduck was the second Pokemon used in the Hoenn League Ever Grande Conference. Using Water-Type attacks, it managed to beat Ash's Torkoal. Because Katie knew that Pikachu was at an advantage against Golduck, she recalled it. Golduck then fought Ash's Corphish and used Confusion to confuse it. Despite being confused, Corphish managed to beat Golduck with ViceGrip and BubbleBeam. Golduck's Moves are Hydro Pump, Fury Swipes and Confusion. | ||

It fought and thanks to its type advantage, defeated Ash's Pikachu easily, but was defeated by Ash's Glalie's very powerful and super effective ice beam. | Katie's Scizor was the fifth Pokemon used in the Hoenn League Ever Grande Conference. It battled against Ash's Swellow and proved to be very powerful using a combination of Double Team and Metal Claw. Eventually it lost to Swellow's super effective Aerial Ace. Scizor's moves are Quick Attack, Double Team, Metal Claw and Hidden Power. | ||

| Katie's Walrein was the last Pokemon used in the Hoenn League Ever Grande Conference. It was first used Against Ash's Swellow and defeated it easily with a powerful yet super effective Ice Beam. It then fought Ash's Corphish and defeated it with a Body Slam. Then it faced Ash's Grovyle and was about to defeat it despite the type disadvantage. Ash eventually found out that Walrein was weaker without water underneath it for it to swim in. Ash made Walrein freeze the battle field with its own Ice Beam. Grovyle then gained the upper hand and was able to defeat the Ice Break Pokémon with Leaf Blade thus winning the match for Ash. Walreins moves are Ice Beam, Body Slam and Mimic. Walrein also used Quick Attack via Mimic. | ||
