In the Game, The leader is brock and he has one trainer named Camper Liam in the gym with him. The entrance has two statues and there are just rocks lying around. Brock doesn't think much of traps so he just has one trainer and no tricks guarding him. Liam gives you 220 pokédollars after you defeat him,Jerry 800 ,Edwin 1600 and Brock gives you 1400 + at the 1st,3rd gen 2800 at the 2nd gen and 63000 at the 4th gen.Also he gives you the Boulder Badge and TM 39 [[Rock Tomb]] at the third gen,Tm34 Bide at first gen and at the fourth gen Tm80 Rock slide.. In the Game, The leader is Misty and she has two trainers named Picknicker Diana and Swimmer Luis in the gym with her. The entrance has two statues and there is a minor maze of bridges spaning the water. Misty doesn't like traps so she only keeps two trainers as a defense against trainers and has no tricks guarding her. Diana gives you 380 pokédollars after you defeat her, Luis gives you 64 and Misty gives you 2100 + the Cascade Badge and TM 03 [[Water pulse]]. She also allows you to use cut outside of battle.Luis has a Horsea and a Shellder while Dianna a Goldeen.Diana in the 2nd 4th gens has become a swimmer and has only a Golduck while Luis is missing and at the 2nd gen Parkr took his place having two Horseas and a Seadra.Parker at fth gen is no more Swimmer but a sailor and has one Horsea.Also another Sailor is added at the 4th gen Eddie that has an Azumarill.Brianan is a female swimmer appears at the Johto-Kanto versions and has two Seakings.Another female swimmer Joy is added at the 4th gen that has a Clouster.

If you find two switches than the electric doors guarding Surge will deactivate and you will be able to face him. Dwayne gives you 672 pokédollars after you defeat him, Tucker gives you 1656, Bailey gives you 1008 and Lt. Surge gives you 2400 + the Thunder Badge.

As in other regions, the Kanto region holds a number of Gyms located throughout the area. In the Generation I games and their remakes there are a total of eight Gyms. In the Pokémon Anime, the main character Ash, battled at eight Gyms as well. However, as seen with several characters' Badges, there were other unidentified Gyms that were not shown.

Pewter City Gym

Pewter City Gym

The Pewter Gym (Japanese: ニビジム Nibi Gym) is the first pokémon gym to battle in the Kanto region. Based on its name, the gym strictly uses Rock-type and Ground-type Pokémon. It's located in Pewter City outside of Viridan Forest. There's a total of two trainers in the gym, Brock, the Leader, and a Jr. Trainer.

The Celadon Gym is located in Celadon City. The leader is Erika and she gives out the Rainbow Badge and uses Grass-type Pokémon as her speciality.

The Fuchsia City gym is in Fuchsia City. The leader varies in the games. In Red/Blue/Yellow, Koga is the leader, but in HeartGold and SoulSilver, Janine, Koga's daughter, is the leader. Both focus on the Poison-type. Saffron City's Gym Leader is Sabrina, who uses Psychic-type Pokémon. There are teleporting tiles that the player must use in order to get to the gym leader. During Team Rocket's siege, the gym is locked up and will open after Giovanni is defeated.
