Juan's Luvdisc was a surprisingly powerful Pokemon. Despite its frail appearance, Luvdisc was strong enough to defeat Ash's Grovyle, even though Grovyle was a Grass type. To make up for its lack of defensive strength, Luvdisc used its impressive speed which was increased by its special ability. However it was eventually defeated by Ash's Corphish.
