Butler aimed to use its limitless power in order to create a [[Groudon]] through artificial means, which he failed to do for [[Team Magma]]. Later, Jirachi telepathically reached out to [[Max]] during Butler's magic show.

Butler follows them to Forina, and succeeds in creating an artificial Groudon by capturing Jirachi. However, the Groudon begins consuming all of the wildlife in Forina, and with Butler's help, Jirachi succeeds in defeating the creature.

Jirachi (ジラーチ Jirachi) plays a pivotal role in the movie Jirachi: Wish Maker. Jirachi is a legendary Pokémon who awakens once every thousand years for a period of seven days, coinciding with the appearance of the Millennium Comet. Butler finds the Millennium Crystal

Jirachi is discovered by Butler.

Jirachi was found by Butler and Diane deep beneath Forina, in which it was held within the form of a purplish crystal.
