James' Carnivine is the first Pokémon that James obtained in the Sinnoh region. His Japanese voice actor is Daisuke Sakaguchi, and his English voice actor is Billy Beach. He made his debut in Two Degrees of Separation. When James opens his Poké Ball, Carnivine jumps out and sucks on James' head. James had originally caught Carnivine in the Great Marsh as a boy when he appeared to be quite injured, as mentioned in a flashback.Also Carnivine was used by Jessie for several contest in Sinnoh.
