Trivia

  • The scientists are named after Pierre and Marie Curie.
  • The entire plot of this episode revolves around Ash and co. trying to get across the river, but they never think of using their water Pokemon (Totodile, Staryu and Goldeen) to carry them across as they've done many times before.
  • Pierre and Marie argue over whether Sudowoodo is a Grass-type or a Rock-type, but no one ever considers that it could be dual-type and be both.
  • Everyone is surprised that Sudowoodo, or any Pokemon, would use old dried leaves for a Razor Leaf attack, suggesting that Pokemon with this attack do not produce the leaves they use, but instead keep a store of them on or in their bodies.
