- Main article: James' Inkay
Inkay appeared in XY003, when James caught it.
- Despite its cuttlefish-like appearance, it doesn't have the Water-type.
- Inkay's method of evolution is the most unusual of all evolution methods. Its method is the only evolution method that need the player to do something with the platform, rather than the program.
- There was a "PokéGod" rumor during the first generation saying that, if you hold the Game Boy upside down while Lickitung evolves, it will evolve into Luigi from the Mario Bros. series.
Inkay comes from ink and okay.
