| − | Ash is sad about his loss at the Pokémon League. He is not speaking to anyone, and when Misty comes in to try to cheer him up it quickly turns into an argument between the two. Pikachu brings a quick finish to the argument with a thundershock on everyone. Ash and the gang decide to head out to cheer on Ritchie for his sixth round. Ritchie fights the match hard, and unfortunately loses. After coming out of the match, Ritchie is determined to try harder for next year which inspires Ash to do just the same. As they talk, both of their Pikachu play behind them until they fall into a hole dug by Team Rocket. They rush to save their Pikachu, but fall into another hole. Ash struggles to get out, but upon sliding back down, the hole collapses into deeper inside the ground. Jessie and James fish out the two Pikachu from the other hole and trap them in a cage. They get out of the hole with the help of their Pokémon Pidgeotto and Happy, and defeat Team Rocket. Back at the Pokémon League, they receive their badges for participating and are treated to a great display of fireworks. Team Rocket try to dig below the arena to get in, but end up being blown away along with the fireworks. Ash says goodbye to Ritchie and proceeds back home to Pallet Town. |

Friends to the End (Japanese: ポケモンリーグ！さいごのたたかい！, Hepburn: Pokémon League! The Last Battle!) is the 82nd and final episode of Pokémon: Indigo League.
Synopsis
It's the sixth round match at the Pokémon League Competition, and Ash, Misty and Brock are in the stands cheering for their new friend, Richie. When an unfortunate turn of events happens, Ash learns a valuable lesson that he will take with him on the rest of his journey as a Pokémon trainer. Finally, Ash and Richie get to march with the athletes for the closing ceremonies of the Competition where they add a Pokémon League Badge to their cherished collection.[1]
Episode plot
Ash still thinks about his loss at the League, thinking why was he chosen to lose. Oak, Delia, Misty and Brock are waiting for him. Brock says that it is the loss that he thinks about now and does not want to do anything. Misty knows this cannot keep up forever. Misty proposes Ash to get lunch, but he refuses. Misty advises to go for a walk, but Ash still refuses. Misty tells Ash they can get some souvenirs, but he still refuses. Misty tells that he is a baby, making Ash riled up. Ash's mom and Brock go into the room. Ash's mom tells his son Misty wants to help him. Misty tells Ash with all the training they were lucky they made it to the first round. Ash responds she did not battle any of those trainers. Oak tells that using strength and force has gotten him so far, but he could have gone further if he trained his Charizard properly.
