Helioptile is an Electric/Normal-type Pokémon which was first introduced in Generation VI.

Behavior

Helioptile absorbs solar rays to generate electricity. It also charges itself in the sun in such a way it doesn't need to eat.

Etymology

Helioptile is a play on words Heliophile (Something attracted to the sun or light) and Reptile.

Origin

Helioptile, as its Japanese name implies, is based of a frilled neck lizard. This can also be seen when it's attacking, it opens the "ear-like" structures on its head.
