Grotle (Japanese: ハヤシガメ Hayashigame) is the Grass-type Starter Pokémon of the Sinnoh region, evolved from Turtwig.
Biology
Physiology
Grotle has a large, yellow shell that covers the back, head and short tail. It also has two large bushes that sprout nuts and there are three brown stripes on the shell. Grotle's lower jaw is yellow and has triangle shaped on its cheeks. The feet are also yellow and they each have three claws.
Habitat
These Pokémon live in forests and are often found near sources of food.
Food
Grotle, like Turtwig, gets energy by photosynthesis but it can also eat berries.
Evolution
Grotle is the evolved form of Turtwig as of level 18. Grotle evolves into Torterra once it reaches level 32.

Trivia
It's the heaviest of all of the mid-evolution starter Pokémon.
Origin
Grotle is based on a turtle or tortoise with foliage growing from its shell.
Etymology
Grotle probably got its name from "Ground" and "Turtle", or alternatively, "Grotto", and "Turtle". Or another alternative is "Grow" and "Turtle" due to plants ability to photosynthesize.
