Graveler (Japanese: ゴローン Goroon) is a Rock/Ground-type Pokémon introduced in Generation I, and a Rock/Electric-type Pokémon introduced in Generation VII.

Biology

Physiology

Graveler has four arms which can curl up to its body to roll at any time. Above its eyes is a wide rock crest. Unlike its pre-evolved form, Graveler has feet.

Natural abilities

Graveler has the ability Rock Head or Sturdy. Rock Head prevents Graveler from recoiling. Sturdy prevents Graveler from being KOed by OHKO moves. They live atop the mountains. When they roll down, it is nearly impossible for it to be stopped.

Evolution

Graveler is the evolved form of Geodude at level 25. Graveler can evolve into Golem, at any given level, when traded.

Trivia

  • Alolan Graveler, along with its pre evolved and evolved forms, is the only Pokémon with the dual Electric/Rock typing.

Design Origin

Graveler is based on a boulder, as well as many four-armed deities of Hindu myths and legends. Its Alolan form, shared among its evolutionary line, is most likely based on magnetite, a type of mineral that exudes a strong magnetic field.
