Gonzap's role is lessened in this game. Gonzap and the rest of Team Snagem ambush [[Michael]] as he was leaving [[S.S. Libra]] and takes his Snag Machine. Later, Gonzap battles Michael and, after being defeated, gladly hands over the Sang Machine (since it was too small to fit on his arm). As Michael attempts to get into [[Cipher Key Lair]], two guards stop him. Gonzap then has his men use Gloom's Sleep Powder to put the guards to sleep and allows Michael to pass. |

Later, Gonzap battles Michael and, after being defeated, gladly hands over the Sang Machine (since it was too small to fit on his arm). As Michael attempts to get into Cipher Key Lair, two guards stop him. Gonzap then has his men use Gloom's Sleep Powder to put the guards to sleep and allows Michael to pass.
Gonzap can be later fought at the Orre Colosseum where he has much stronger Pokémon than before. He is faught at the end of round 5.
