Goldenrod City is the biggest city in the Johto region; the 3rd gym is here. It's also known as the place where Bill's family lives. Despite its size, it lacks any extrordinary importance other than containing the 3rd Gym Leader (Whitney) and later in the storyline getting the Radio Tower taken over by Team Rocket. Although in the Generation IV it contains the Global Terminal, incluiding the GTS (Global Trade Station) itself. It also has a Magnet Train which connects Johto and Kanto by starting in Goldenrod and ending in Saffron City.
