Biography

Ghetsis had Anthea and Concordia raise N as a child. He also wanted N to become the king of Team Plasma when he fully grew up. Ghetsis also managed to convince the other six sages that people enslaved Pokémon for their own needs. Thus, Ghetsis ordered every sage to do a part of the plan to liberate Pokémon.[1]

Ghetsis oversees N's raising by Anthea and Concordia. Intending to make N the king of Team Plasma, Ghetsis gathers and assigns tasks to the Seven Sages for their goal of Pokémon liberation. When Zinzolin protests the task he is given, Ghetsis ruthlessly overrides his objection.

Black & White arc

Ghetsis first appeared in Accumula Town in Team Plasma's campaign, in which he proclaims that his goal is to free Pokémon from slavery by their Trainers. Many listened and released their Pokémon, prompting Black to become angry since most of the Pokémon were strongly attached to their trainers.

He appeared later, where he paralyzed Black with his Eelektross and stole the Dark Stone, which he then delivered to N.

When Team Plasma goes to the Pokémon League, Brycen suspects that they are behind the disappearing Gym Leaders. He is correct, however, Ghetsis uses Hawes as a hostage in order to prevent Brycen from freeing them. He adds Brycen to his collection of Gym Leaders on crucifixes and taunts Black. Black tries to battle him, but Hydriegon sweeps his entire team.

Black has a rematch with him at N's Castle and is able to gain the upper hand, with Hydreigon being unable to defeat a single Pokémon, and is wiped out by Galvantula's X-Scissor. Volcarona is able to camouflage itself in the sun, but it was knocked out by Carracosta's Stone Edge. Cofagrigus is able to overwhelm Musharna, but Braviary's Sky Drop defeats it. Even so, Eelektross is able to defeat Carracosta and Braviary, but is defeated by Emboar's Flare Blitz. Emboar is beaten by Seismitoad, who in turn is knocked out by Musharna's Hidden Power.

Black 2 & White 2 arc

Leo remembered Ghetsis and the other sages, while speaking to Blake about the incident in the Unova League two years ago.[2] Colress spoke to Ghetsis, who approved of his changes, all to prepare for a war against Unova.[1] Zinzolin recalled how other sages spoke about Reshiram and Zekrom, but nothing about the third dragon, Kyurem.[3]

Ghetsis halted Colress from attacking Blake, to whom Ghetsis introduced himself. Ghetsis reminded Colress they needed Zinzolin and ordered him to take Kyurem into the ship. Colress did so, while Blake went to arrest Ghetsis. However, Ghetsis had the Shadow Triad attack Blake, whose Keldemaru went berserk. With Blake distracted, Colress and Ghetsis went into the ship, the Plasma Frigate, which flew off.[4] Seeing Rood betrayed him, Ghetsis ordered Colress to capture him, knowing Rood had a reason for coming to Castelia City.[5] Finding out Whitley was the Team Plasma grunt he has been searching for, Blake explained one of his missions was to capture the Team Plasma sages, including Bronius.[6]
