Forums: Index Watercooler Wikia's proposed backgrounds

Hey, guys :)

A request was made to provide a new background for this wiki that tied into the imminent release of ORAS. I actually provided a background some days ago, but I think that's become a little lost in the shuffle. So I just wanted to close down the old discussion and start afresh.

Please proceed to w:c:czechitout, where you can see the new background, actually in place. You can test it there by widening and narrowing your browser window, as well as by looking at the page in widescreen on your tablets. Please give your feedback below. If you don't like it, please give me some suggestions of what, specifically you'd change about it.

Remember, the task here was not to create a background for all time. Rather, the goal, as I understood it, was to provide an ORAS-themed skin that probably would be up on the site until maybe just the few weeks remaining in the year. — CzechOut 05:01, October 12, 2014 (UTC)

Looks good to me. --Shockstorm (talk) 06:16, October 12, 2014 (UTC)
It could look a bit better, possibly by setting some transparency on the background of the page, and moving the Legendaries closer to the edges.

Well the pattern is so busy that allowing transparency would almost certainly make text less legible. Also, remember that the width of the content window is variable, depending on browser width. When you say "move the Legendaries closer to the edges", you're effectively asking for something that's not possible for all widths. Try widening and narrowing your browser width, and you'll see how more of the background becomes visible the wider your window is set. My goal was to make sure that you could see something recognisable at the very narrowest widths, and then get more of the picture as you broadened out. — CzechOut 16:47, October 13, 2014 (UTC)
A little less consistency in the background might be a good thing, the current background is a little old, maybe swapping out the backgrounds every now and then would be good. User Page. ƒelinoel_ Contributions 20:29, October 13, 2014 (UTC)

Can someone show the image how the background looks? To me it is shown quite disorinted; not much is seen. Energy X 15:51, October 15, 2014 (UTC)
