Rich Text Editor - Requesting it to be disabled

Rich Text Editor is the default editor on Wikia. I know of some wikis which do not have the Rich Text Editor as they had gotten them disabled. However, as far as I know, there haven't been any disables lately since the Rich Text Editor is "beneficial" to wikis. The reason I put beneficial in quotation marks is that, at times, the Rich Text Editor is anything but beneficial. I say this because edits like this appear on the wiki at times. That isn't the only page where there is Rich Text Editor excess.

Rich Text Editor adds in HTML within the content that you are adding to the page.

==<span class="mw-headline" id="Pok.C3.A9mon" style="border-bottom-width:0px;border-left-width:0px;font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;margin-top:0px;margin-right:0px;margin-bottom:0px;margin-left:0px;padding-top:0px;padding-right:0px;padding-bottom:0px;padding-left:0px;vertical-align:baseline;"><span class="mw-headline" id="Pok.C3.A9mon" style="border-bottom-width:0px;border-left-width:0px;font-style:inherit;font-weight:inherit;margin-top:0px;margin-right:0px;margin-bottom:0px;margin-left:0px;padding-top:0px;padding-right:0px;padding-bottom:0px;padding-left:0px;vertical-align:baseline;">Pokémon</span></span>==

Unless caught when it is made, content like the above will stay on the pages until edited out of it. I personally would like to see the Rich Text Editor disabled so that we do not get the Rich Text Editor excess.

What I would like us to do, is go through regularly editing, but if we come across a page that has Rich Text Editor excess, I would like you to remove the excess and then provide me with the difference of the page when it has the excess showing.

Eventually, we'll vote on whether to remove it or to keep it. – EnemyPeacemaker 12:55, March 28, 2013 (UTC)

I really doubt that it's true that RTE is the only way iPads can edit. It's likely that it's that way because you have RTE enabled in your preferences. Because I know of people editing on iPads who don't have RTE enabled and it's not the only way. – EnemyPeacemaker 13:33, April 6, 2013 (UTC)

  2. It only seems to be adding unnecessary bytes to the page and does not seem practical. Energy X 17:19, April 6, 2013 (UTC)

  1. Rich Text is the only way in which people who use iPads can edit. If this is disabled then people will not be able to edit using iPads or any other mobile device. Rainbow Shifter 15:19, April 5, 2013 (UTC)
