Forums: Index → Watercooler → Pokémon of each region categories
Sorry if this isn't the right place to start this but I noticed how there are region categories like the Sinnoh Pokémon category which are like complete replicas of the Generation categories. I was thinking that the Pokémon that appear in each region should be added, for example, Pikachu is a Pokémon that appears in the Kanto, Hoenn and Sinnoh regions. --OmegaRasengan (talk) 21:25, July 31, 2013 (UTC)
- The categories aren't added based on if the Pokémon appears in that region, its if the Pokémon originates from that region. Rainbow Shifter 08:28, August 1, 2013 (UTC)

- Seemingly, the Generation and Region categories are basically the same thing then. The Region categories can be confused with "Pokémon that appear in the <region> region". To avoid this confusion, it's best to remove the category. In my opinion, it should be replaced with Pokémon that appear in the region's Pokédex. Bermuda • Triangle • 17:36,8/1/2013

That's what I'm trying to recommend except have the region categories remain and add the Pokémon that are common there. --OmegaRasengan (talk) 17:57, August 1, 2013 (UTC)
- It would make more sense to convert it into a Region Pokédex kind of thing. Template:PokéBox now has a Pokédex section, so we can use that to automatically add in "said Region Pokédex category" without the hassle of needing to add it manually on various pages. Bermuda • Triangle • 22:54,8/1/2013
- Yeah, that sounds easier than manually categorizing hundreds of Pokémon in each region. --OmegaRasengan (talk) 17:29, August 6, 2013 (UTC)
