Flint's Infernape was the first and, so far, only Pokémon that Flint was shown to have in the anime.
Biography
Having trained with Flint since the Elite Four member was a child, Infernape was an experienced and formidable Pokémon. As a Chimchar it was involved in a battle with a powerful Houndoom, which was shown in a flashback, alongside Volkner's Pikachu. Chimchar eventually evolved into Monferno and finally into Infernape.
With the help of Infernape and his other Pokémon, Flint became a member of the Sinnoh Elite Four. He took Infernape when he visited his childhood friend Volkner, and used it to defeat Jasmine's Steelix, Team Rocket, Ash's Buizel, Infernape and, with more effort, Pikachu.
Infernape's final appearance so far was when he was seen battling Cynthia's Garchomp on television. Although Infernape had the disadvantage in type, it put up a magnificent fight but finally lost to Cynthia's powerful Dragon-type Pokémon.
