This Poliwag is a water-type Pokémon that was lent to Kenny from the Pokémon Trainer School.
Biography[]
During a school trip, Kenny lost Poliwag, but was found and returned to him by Max. While Ash and Brock were amusing the children by playing with the Pokémon, Tommy intentionally slipped and fell on Poliwag, who was startled and used Water Gun. This nearly hit Kenny, who was pushed away and saved by Max. Later on, Max chose Poliwag to battle Tommy and his Magby. Despite getting hit by Magby's Flamethrower, Max had Poliwag use Defense Curl and Belly Drum. Just when Magby was to defeat Poliwag, Team Rocket appeared to steal the Pokémon. Per Kenny's advice, Max had Poliwag use Water Gun, defeating Jessie's Seviper. Poliwag repeated the attack, but Team Rocket raised their defences in their machine. Cacnea used Pin Missile, but Poliwag used Protect, stopping the attack. After Team Rocket was defeated by Roxanne and Geodude, Kenny befriended Poliwag and ended his phobia of Pokémon.
