This Houndour is a Dark/Fire-type Pokémon owned by Pryce.
Biography[]
Houndour was one of the Masked Man's Pokémon, sent to stop Gold at Ilex Forest. Houndour bit Exbo, who tried to counter with Smokescreen. Next, Houndour fired Flamethrower at Exbo, who countered it with Ember.[1] Since Gold refused to retreat, the Masked Man's Houndour used Iron Tail and his Gastly fired Shadow Ball to wound Gold and his Pokémon.[2]
At the Lake of Rage, Gold teamed up with Silver to stop the Masked Man, whose Ariados went to attack the two.[3] Their Quilava and Sneasel managed to intercept their attacks. As Silver went after the Masked Man, Gold was forced to fight Ariados and Ariados. Since Ariados and Houndour went to attack Aibo, the latter used Double Team, which caused Ariados and Houndour to hit and knock each other out.[4]
Lt. Surge, who was investigating a secret base at Mahogany Town, faced the Masked Man. The Masked Man's Houndour fired Flamethrower, which Raichu managed to negate. Lt. Surge threatened to attack, since his Raichu absorbed the maximum amount of electricity. However, the Masked Man's Houndour called upon other wild Houndour; they all used Howl to immobilise Raichu and Lt. Surge. Instead, Lt. Surge had Electrode self destruct, allowing Lt. Surge to escape.[5] Lt. Surge met up with Gold and Silver, the former explaining the Masked Man was a master of ice. However, Lt. Surge recalled the Masked Man didn't use any ice-type Pokémon, only used his Houndour.[6]
