Mahri is the little sister of Rudy, the Gym Leader of Trovita Island. When Misty saved her from a whirlpool, Rudy expressed gratitude. Mahri, seeing a potentional love interest of Rudy, invited Misty to stay at the Gym, since she does not have much girls to play with. Misty reconsidered the offer to stay for good, but refused once Ash had his match with Rudy.
