But first, they must sort out a pressing problem: Pignite’s Flamethrower has gotten very weak, and after some investigation, they discover something lodged in its nose. Jumping up and down doesn’t shake it loose, and even a scary spin in the sky courtesy of Charizard isn’t enough to banish this pesky problem. Trivia[]

The subtitle of the first 25 episodes: Pokémon: BW Adventures in Unova.

  • There is a shot of Delia (Ash's mother), Tracey, Professor Oak and Ash's Pokémon at Professor Oak's lab in this opening.
  • The opening's footage comes from the Japanese theme song for Best Wishes 2, Be an Arrow.
    • Also, some Pokémon from previous seasons can be seen in this opening.
  • During the N arc, most of the shots change to fit the new arc.
  • During the Decolore arc, a majority of the shots change to fit the new arc and the subtitle used to refer to it was "Pokémon: BW Adventures in Unova and Beyond".
  • This is the first TPCi season to use two subtitles and the first season since Season 6 (whose first 12 episodes use the Master Quest subtitle due to taking place in Johto) to do so.
    • This is the only one of such seasons not to change the opening theme to a different one in the middle of the season.
    • Like the three 4Kids seasons that used two subtitles, this one is named by the second subtitle (the one which is used on the later episodes) on the official site and Australian DVD releases.
  • The Team Rocket trio returns to being comedic but they still retain their competent nature and have access to the Team Rocket technology.
  • This is the first season to not have any of the main characters Pokémon evolve.
