Fergus was one of the trainers who made it to New Island in Pokémon the First Movie - Mewtwo Strikes Back. He rode over to New Island on his Gyarados' back. After Mewtwo insulted Humans and Pokémon, Fergus attacked Mewtwo with his Gyarados's Hyper Beam but utterly lost to Mewtwo's incredible Psychic powers. Later his Pokémon were seen battling their clones.
