Fennekin (Japanese: フォッコ, Fokko) is the Fire-type Starter Pokémon in the unnamed sixth region from the Pokémon X and Pokémon Y Version.

Trivia

• Fennekin is the first Fire-type starter Pokémon that is not based on one of the animals from the Chinese Zodiac.
• Fennekin is based on the from the Shara of North Africa Fennec Fox or Fex the Vulpes Zerda. The name Fennekin is also based on those animals.
• It is the sixth mammalian starter, the other five are Cyndaquil, Chimchar, Tepig, Oshawott, and Chespin.
