Trivia
- Fennekin is the first Fire-type starter Pokémon that is not based on one of the animals from the Chinese Zodiac.
- Fennekin is based on the from the Shara of North Africa Fennec Fox or Fex the Vulpes Zerda. The name Fennekin is also based on those animals.
- It is the sixth mammalian starter, the other five are Cyndaquil, Chimchar, Tepig, Oshawott, and Chespin.
