Fennekin (Japanese: フォッコ, Fokko) is the Fire-type Starter Pokémon in the Karos region from the Pokémon X and Pokémon Y Version.

Trivia

• Fennekin is based on the form of the Shara of North Africa Fennec Fox or Fex the Vulpes Zerda. The name Fennekin is also based on those animals.
• It is the sixth mammalian starter, the other five are Cyndaquil, Chimchar, Tepig, Oshawott, and Chespin.
• Fennekin is the 3rd (not including Vulpix's evolution) pokemon to be based off a fox.
