The exam instructor is a character appearing in Pokémon: Indigo League.

Biography[]

Pokémon the Series: The Beginning[]

The instructor gave Ash his number 7 for the Admissions Exam and also qualified Jessie and James for the exam. In the first test, he tested their knowledge. He put them through many questions, which were quite difficult for them to answer, because it was really random. Jessie was enraged and left the course.

The instructor then took them to the final test: a Pokémon battle with him using his Pokémon. James sent Ivysaur and Charizard at the same time, which caused him to be expelled on the spot. The instructor battled Ash, who used Weezing against Flareon and won, but lost using Arbok against Jolteon. Team Rocket's Meowth then interrupted the match after Meowth was frozen by Vaporeon's Ice Beam. The instructor attempted to catch Team Rocket's Meowth, who was protected by Jessie, James and the Pokémon they got from the instructor. However, the instructor ordered the Pokémon to attack Team Rocket, since they never were their own.

Pokémon the Series: Gold and Silver[]

The instructor appeared in Johto, who, with the hiker, was admiring Ash's Larvitar.

Unofficial[]

The instructor took a liking to Meowth after it broke out of the ice himself, and he attempted to catch it with a Poké Ball. However, Charizard, Ivysaur and Pikachu knocked it away. Later, Meowth gets hurt in an Explosion caused by Ash's Weezing and swapped around with Ash's Meowth. The instructor then takes Meowth from Todd Snap and Meowth realizes the swap. He then runs away and the swap gets fixed.
