Espurr (Japanese: ニャスパー, Hepburn: Nyasupā) is a Psychic-type Pokémon introduced in Generation VI.
Biology
Physiology
Espurr is a small bipedal feline Pokémon that appears to be based on a Scottish Fold kitten, as well as the nekomata of Japanese folklore. Espurr has circular, unblinking pinkish-purple eyes with round deep purple pupils. Its body is covered in lavender-colored fur. Its paws and ears are tipped with white fur, and it has a short curled tail. Beneath Espurr's folded ears are yellow ring-shaped glands that contain its psychic powers. When it is not battling, Espurr's ears are folded tightly against its head, covering its psychic glands in order to keep its intense psychokinetic powers from leaking out.
Behavior
Espurr is a rather self-restraining or someone could say as, "too empathetic" to let itself be bothered with others. The reason why it always shut its ears is so that it could control its psychic powers. It is most of the time a loner. It is also fairly independent and prefer to move on its own pace.
Evolution
Espurr can evolve into Meowstic starting at level 25.

Trivia
- Espurr makes random appearances throughout Pokémon X and Y.
Origin
Espurr is based on a Scottish Fold kitten. It is also based on the mystical two-tailed nekomata cat of Japanese legends.
Etymology
Espurr's name is almost homophonous with the word "esper". It's name is actually a combination of "ESP"(extrasensory perception), "esper" and "purr". Espurr itself is a Restraint Pokémon, it possesses the ability of ESP, or literally the ability to perform telepathy or other paranormal activities. Hence, the word "esper" itself may refers to an individual or other manner of living things that is capable of ESP.
