Duplica (Japanese:イミテ Imite) is a Pokémon Trainer that specializes in training Ditto and impersonating others.
Background
Season 1: Indigo League
Some time ago, Duplica and Ditto were making shows, where Ditto used Transform to impersonate other Pokémon. It did not go well, as Ditto did not copy the Pokémon's face, instead retaining its own.
When Ash, Brock and Misty came into the mansion, they saw Duplica, imitating Ash, whose Ditto was impersonating Pikachu. Ash demanded a match, sending out Bulbasaur, but Duplica's Ditto transformed into Bulbasaur and, using a different move, defeated it. Though Ditto was captured by Team Rocket, Duplica thanked Jessie, James and Meowth as Ditto had its face corrected when using Transform. After the matter was resolved, Duplica was glad she could run her threatre once more.

A few seasons later, Ash, Misty, and Brock stumbled upon a Pokémon Center where they could rest up. However, when they got there, they saw that Nurse Joy wasn't there. A girl from the shadows came out, dressed up like Nurse Joy, and explained that Nurse Joy was in the medical room doing a check-up. Ash and Misty assumed that two Nurse Joys were working at this Pokémon Center, but Brock said that she wasn't Nurse Joy and that she was an imposter. The girl then said that she could never fool Brock, and took off her disguise to reveal that she was Duplica.
The old friends caught up while resting at the Pokémon Center, and Duplica told them that she was there because there was a Pokémon Performance Competition that she was invited to perform in with her Ditto. She then told them that she had caught a new Ditto since their departure; however, just like her first Ditto, this new Ditto also had a problem with transforming. The problem was that this Ditto, nicknamed "Minidit," could only transform into smaller versions of large Pokémon. Duplica saw this as a problem and wanted to fix it, but Nurse Joy told her that nothing was wrong with her Ditto; therefore, it should be fine. Later, Jessie and James saw Minidit and hatched up a plan to steal it so that they could make it transform into a little Arbok, sell it to someone for a powerful Pokémon, then steal Minidit back and repeat the process. They successfully stole Minidit and made it transform into a mini Arbok. They then tried to sell it to a crowd of people. Ash and his friends quickly caught word of this and went to see if it was Minidit. Duplica (although she had gloated about being able to tell her Ditto from any other Pokémon before) could not tell if this small Arbok was her Minidit or not. Meowth then lost his patience and talked, giving away Team Rocket's identity. Ash and Duplica then used Pikachu and the two Dittos to blast away Team Rocket. At the end of the episode, Duplica came to terms with and accepted Minidit's condition. She then made a vow to capture different Dittos, each with their own way of transforming, and create a team of Dittos. This was the last time Duplica was shown in the series.

- Duplica's name is a parody of the word "Duplicate" which means "the same as something else."
- Duplica had to shut down the House of Imite when the crowd hated the fact that Ditto couldn't transform all the way, which is why it looked abandoned when Ash and his friends found it.
- The House of Imite is a parody on the word "imitate" which means "to act like someone or something else."
