The Dragon type (ドラゴンタイプ Doragon taipu in Japanese) is one of the eighteen Pokémon elemental types.
The Dragon type is an ancestral type, as many of the Legendary Dragon-type Pokémon are considered as deities. Other Pokémon are hard to catch and hard to train. An interesting fact is how many Dragon-type Pokémon surpass common stats.
Because of this last fact, people who train Dragon-type Pokémon get to be famous, just like Lance (last member of the Kanto Elite Four and then Johto champion), Clair (Blackthorn City Gym Leader), Drake (last member of the Hoenn Elite Four), Iris (Gym Leader of Opelucid City and then Unova champion), Drayden (Opelucid City Gym Leader) and Drasna (member of the Kalos Elite Four).
