Defog (きりばらい Fog Wipe) is a HM Flying-type move introduced in Generation IV. The only way to be able use this in the field is by defeating the Gym Leader Crasher Wake of the Pastoria Gym. It only appears in Sinnoh and in Generation IV. In the field, it clears the area of thick mist or fog obscuring vision.

Effect

In Battle

If fog is present on the battlefield, Defog allows for it to be cleared. Additionally, it can negate the effects of moves such as Light Screen, Safeguard, Stealth Rock and Reflect.

Outside of Battle

Outside of a Pokémon battle, Defog has the ability to clear away all fog from an area, and allows for the entire area to be revealed. This effect lasts for the duration in which the player remains in the area. When the player leaves and enters, the fog will have returned.
