Gems are hold items introduced in Pokémon Black and White. These items can be found throughout dust clouds inside caves.

There is a total of seventeen gems, each corresponding with a type. When held by a Pokémon, it strengthens the Pokémon's move's type by 50%. Afterwards, the gem no longer functions and disappears.
