Chatter (おしゃべり Chatter) is a Flying-type move introduced in Generation IV. It is Chatot's Signature move. It is a unique attack, as it involves talking into the DS microphone. You talk into it as loud as you can, and the noise will be played every time you use Chatter. This attack does more damage the louder you talked and raises the likelihood of confusion (A Chatot with no recorded sound, just its regular cry, will lead to a 1% chance of confusion).

Chatter is the signature move of Chatot.

Effect

In Battle

The user attacks using a sound wave based on words it has learned. It may also confuse the foe.

Super Contests

Earn +3 if the Pokémon gets the lowest score.

Trivia

  • Chatter can record up to a minute, but recording longer will not do more damage, however.
  • The recording made by this move is slightly muffled. This is most likely to prevent the game from saying inappropriate words. This is probably why Chatot is banned from Wi-Fi battles.
  • Chatter is one of two moves that cannot be copied by the move sketch along with the move sketch itself.
  • The highest chance to confuse the enemy chatter can have is 31%
