The captain is a character appearing in Pokémon: Adventures in the Orange Islands.
Biography
Season 2: Adventures in the Orange Islands
When the heroes encountered Gastly and Haunter on an abandoned ship, they have shown their trainer's past. The captain was a Pokémon Trainer who used Gastly and Haunter in Orange League 300 years ago and won the League. This inspired Ash to gain more confidence to compete and win in the Orange League.
