Blaine's Magmar was Blaine's most powerful Fire-type Pokémon.
Biography
Magmar was caught by Blaine in the volcano on Cinnabar Island. It debuted in the episode, Riddle Me This, where it overwhelmed Ash's Pikachu. When the volcano was going to erupt in Volcanic Panic, Magmar tried to stop it by blocking it with rocks. Although the hard work exhausted it, Magmar refused to give up and gained the respect of Ash's Charizard, who decided to help. Charizard then challenged Magmar to a battle, wanting to test its strength against such a formidable opponent. Magmar fought Charizard fiercely and almost won by forcing Charizard into the lava but then Charizard burst out of the lava and finished Magmar with a devastating Seismic Toss.
Blaine's Magmar is usually seen outside its Poké Ball and when Blaine summoned it to battle Pikachu, it burst out of the lava instead of emerging from the Poké Ball. However Blaine was seen putting it in a Poké Ball after Magmar was defeated by Charizard.
