Trivia

  • The Cubchoo family is reminiscent of the Magikarp family. It starts out as a weak-looking Pokémon, but evolves into a strong one.
  • The drop of mucus coming from the nose of its pre-evolution has become frozen and is now Beartic's beard.
  • Beartic is the fourth Pokémon to have the appearance of a bear in the series, along with Teddiursa, Ursaring, and Beartic's pre-evolution, Cubchoo.
  • Beartic is a portmanteau of the words "bear" and "arctic", as it is based on a polar bear.
  • Beartic is realistically sized; in reality, 8 feet is roughly the size of a polar bear standing on its hind legs.
  • Beartic's BMI (based on human calculations) is 38.7, compared to the polar bear's BMI (again based on human calculations) of 51.2. This is partly because Beartic is a lot lighter than its real-life counterpart.
