Episode Plot
After foiling another Team Rocket plan, Ash and co. stop off at Astilbe Town. At the battle club, Tepig walks up to its former trainer, a boy named Shamis. He is the previous owner of Ash's Tepig due to Shamis abandoning Tepig because he belived that it had no talent for battles when it lost to a Deerling but he never cares when he lied. When Ash went to get Tepig, Shamis said that he was glad to give up such a worthless Pokemon, which enraged Ash after he put two and two together. So Ash is challenged to a Double Battle to prove how useless Tepig is. Can Tepig really prove it's worth? Yes and he evolved into Pignite and learned Fire Pledge to defeat his Emboar and Heatmor by finishing off with Flame Charge and they're down and out. Shamis apoligizes to Pignite and want him to join his fire warrior team but all he wants is to stay with Ash and co. since he never wanted him anymore which teaches him after all. Now Ash and co. continue their trip to Icirrus City accompanied by his newly evolved Pignite as their journey continues.
